Three Lodges Work
together for MCCP Family Picnic

On August 21, 2010, the York Elks Lodge, with support
from the Wells and Dover, NH Elks Lodges held their 10th Annual
"Dave Bedell Day" MCCP Family picnic at York Wild Kingdom.
Four Hundred people took part in the event, of which three hundred sixty
were families from the Maine Children's Cancer Program, a major project
of the Maine Elks Association.
The event began at 10 AM, where the families could tour the park to see
the animals on display. Rides opened at 12 Noon. Hamburgers, hot dogs,
french fries, ice cream, and soda were served by members of the York,
Wells, and Dover Elk Lodges. A raffle drawing took place as well, with
all proceeds to benefit the cancer program.
The event was named after "Dave Bedell," a charter member of
the York Lodge who was instrumental in developing the program.

Car Show Held to Benefit Veterans From Randy Gerry, Waterville Elks
Lodge

On August 15th, the Waterville Elks
Lodge joined the Rusty Nuts Car Club for the second year in a row to
raise money for the Togus VA Veterans Recreation Fund.
We cooked beans and served food for
approximately 900 people on a sunny wonderful day. There were about 430
cars and motorcycles for the show and fundraiser for the Veterans.
I challenge more Elks to come and enjoy
this parade of vehicles and veterans, plus great food and support our
Veterans. This is my 3rd year and would not miss this great function
put on by the Rusty Nuts Car Club at the Togus Veterans Hospital.
Picture above are L-R: Racheal and Ron
Bourgoin, Bob Reid and Betty Pelletier and Randy and Barb Gerry not
available for the photo was Butch Poissonnier who cooked the beans.
