Grand Exalted Ruler Banquet

Dear Maine Elks,

Sanford Lodge of Elks cordially invites you to the banquet honoring our Grand Exalted Ruler,  F. Louis Sulsberger and First Lady, Beth on Tuesday November 6, 2007.

The evening will begin at 5:30 pm with a social hour and appetizers, dinner to follow at 6:45 pm.  After dinner, we will hear a few words from our Grand Exalted Ruler followed by the presentation of gifts from each of the lodges and other dignitaries.

The dinner menu consists of: Surf/Turf (Prime Rib w/Stuffed Shrimp) or Baked Haddock w/Stuffed Shrimp, Roasted Red Potatoes w/Onions, Glazed Carrots, rolls/butter, coffee and Cheese cake w/Blueberry Topping served for dessert. The price for the banquet is $25.00 per person. Please note this is a sit down, served meal. 

Dress for the evening: Gentlemen: Suit or Jacket with tie; Ladies: As appropriate for the occasion.

Public Relations Contest Deadlines Approaching

Grand Lodge Public Relations Committeeman Louis Connolly has requested that the Lodges send their entries for the Best Image of Elkdom Contest and Focus on the Community Contest by mid-November.

The “Best Image of Elkdom” Contest is to encourage all Elks, not just the Public Relations Committee to submit photos that tells the story of an Elk Program without words. This includes Close-ups (8-10 people Max), Elk Logo, Event Signage, Elks, Non-Elk Subjects. Prize for this contest will be either a Digital or Film Camera valued at over $200.00 dollars. The contest is open to all Elks, and there is no limit on the number of submissions. Send photos, along with the Photographers name, Lodge Name and Number, and the Date/Title of the function to Louis Connolly, Grand Lodge Public Relations Committee-Area 1, 16 Floyd Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876-1604.

The “Focus on the Community” Contest is also open to all Elks, and the winner will receive a videocam clock award on a solid maple base.  To enter this contest, simply send two copies of an Elk activity newspaper or magazine article which contains photos of the sponsored event to Louis Connolly, Grand Lodge Public Relations Committee-Area 1, 16 Floyd Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876-1604. Winners will be selected from each of the eight Grand Lodge Areas in November, March, and July.
