Wells Elks
Present Dictionaries to Third Graders
From
Bob Webb, Wells Elks Lodge
Exalted Ruler Jim
Bryant and PER Dick Libby from the Wells Elks presented Dawson Sibley and his
teacher Kim Richard with new dictionaries. The dictionaries are donated to each
child in the third grade to keep as they continue through school. The Elks will
replace the dictionaries for the new incoming 3rd grade each year.
Jim Kilbride and PER Al Ingraham worked with the school to find the best product
for the student that would benefit them long term.
Waterville
Volunteers Visit Togus Veterans
From
Randy Gerry, Exalted Ruler
Waterville Lodge 905
recently visited the Veterans Hospital at Togus for an ice cream social. We had
19 volunteers that helped in assisting Veterans by serving ice cream sundaes and
playing bingo. It was a great time and all had fun including the volunteers. We
are looking forward to another visit soon. We also found a PER that was from
the Augusta Elks and had a picture of him and our PER's, ER that were
volunteering that day. I want to Thank Jim and Bev Robertson for helping set
this up so we can support our Veterans that have supported our country and
allowed us to live in freedom in the USA.
State Ritual
Contest Hotel Information
The Maine Elks Association will
be holding its annual State Ritual Competition at the Houlton Elks Lodge on
February 17, 2007. Also that weekend will be the State President’s visit to the
Houlton Elks Lodge. MEA 1st Vice-President Michael Powers wishes to
inform the members that it is very important that anyone planning to attend
these events, book their hotel reservations as soon as possible. He reminds
everyone that it is snowmobile season at that time, and that if you wait too
long, you will not be able to get a hotel room within 50 miles of Houlton. All
motels have rooms available at this time, but they could go
quickly.

Please send him your brochures showing what took place at your Lodge no later than January 20, 2008.
