The "Roaming Elk" Award

The purpose of the Roaming Elk Award is to encourage members to travel to other Lodges within their district; thus enjoying fraternal ties with members of other Lodges at either meetings or events.

There will be three awards; one for each of Maine's three districts. (Northern, Central, Coastal).

The Roaming Elk Award will initially be delivered at the MEA State Convention by lottery to one Lodge in each District. The following year, at the Convention, the Lodge that holds the award must return it to the State Association to be redistributed the following year.

The Roaming Elk may be captured by other Lodges within the District using the following rules:

Roaming Elk Award Rules

The Point System is as follows:  30 Points are earned for capturing the trophy
                                                    1 Point is earned for each "Full Day" the Lodge has possession of the trophy

The Lodge with the most number of points as of April 1st of each year shall be declared the winner, and will have its name engraved on the trophy.
