Exalted Ruler's Message

Hello fellow members and welcome to a NEW YEAR!

I hope everyone had a great holiday season and was able to visit and spend time with all your family and friends.

Of course as Elks we are winding down on our fiscal year with upcoming nominations of officers just around the corner. If you are interested in helping our Lodge by becoming an officer please contact me. Or if you think someone would be beneficial as an officer to our Lodge and you think they would have interest please let me know.

The livelihood of our Lodge is having Officers who are willing to take a chair and move up to the Exalted Rulers position. The last 4 years this chair has been repeat PER's stepping in so that we can keep things going. It is crucial that we fill the Leading, Loyal and Lecturing Knights chairs. Nominations are always the first meeting in February and voting on the second meeting. Please give this some serious thought and lets get these chairs filled with hopes that we can get back to a rotation of officers and a new Exalted Ruler yearly.

Just a reminder with the end of the fiscal year that we have a large number of members who have not paid their dues and as of April 1st will be dropped from our membership. If you know anyone on the list please contact them and give them a friendly reminder that they have forgotten to send in their dues and we would like to see them stay as members. Also keep in mind we are always looking to add to our membership so lets offer membership to friends or family members to join us in the Lodge which in turn helps us keep our programs running in the area.

Last January the officers asked you to attend a special meeting to help keep this Lodge going, now a year later we are asking that you come back and attend a meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. at the Lodge. This meeting is to review were we are as a Lodge and what still lies ahead for what needs to be done. Come with ideas. This is not a Lodge Meeting forum but a get together as members to see what has been happening since our special meeting we had last January. We ask that you attend and help with this brainstorming meeting.

Fraternally yours,

Ann White, PER

Exalted Ruler

Christmas Raffle Drawing Dec. 9

The 50/50 Lodge Christmas Raffle was drawn on Dec. 9 at the lodge. The winner was State President Wayne Cotterly & First Lady Kathleen who won $924. I want to thank Dan Richard for everything he did to get this fundraiser going and for his great effort and push on ticket sales. Thank you to everyone who purchased or sold tickets as this was a great fundraiser for the lodge.

Keep up the good work at proposing members! Remember to get a picture so other members will know who they are voting on.

Thank you notes

Thank you to those who helped make December a very successful month: Rick Sarle, Don and Pat Hopkins, Ken Briggette, Peggy Briggette, Sonia Sweetser, Pam Poulin, Sandee Welch, Christine Murphy, Dave Prevost, Chris Gorham, Andy and Diane Shorey, Dan Richard. Debi Briggs, Dee Welch, Jane Giasson, and anyone else who has either donated food for the bake sale to benefit the Kids Christmas party, or attended a Wednesday night Burger Night, supported the Children's Christmas Party, and the Third Friday of the month supper. Keep up the great work of Elkdom!

Wings and Things on Wednesdays

Every week we serve burgers, wings, chicken fingers, fries, hand dipped onion rings, pepper rings and garden salad (fresh greens, cucumber, onion, tomatoes, dried cranberries, feta cheese, Caesar dressing)

December 28th: vacation

January 4th: vacation

January 11th: Steak Subs

January 18th: Bacon and Mushroom Cheeseburgers

January 25th: Steak Subs

Volunteers are needed to help. If you are interested in cooking, prep work, serving, or cleaning up, please let me know. I would like to get together so perhaps volunteers can alternate so it is not always the same people feeling that they need to be there every week.

Call me at 364-7081. Thanks, Ann

Bake sales

Starting in February we will be holding a bake sale at the lodge on the 1st Friday of each month. Proceeds will go to the lodge account. Sandee Welch will be organizing the monthly bake sales and you can contact her to make donations of food or supplies that can be used to bake goodies. An-other great idea and reason to stop in.
